Birth of our congregation

Church's History

It all started with a home cell
In May 1984 Pastor Corinne Scholz founded a home cell group with a core of faithful intercessors.
Soon she also invited guest speakers e.g. from the „Word of Faith“ church of Munich who followed the doctrines of Kenneth Hagin. Putting this teaching into practise the home cell increased by the blessing of God to a bigger group which needed more space.

Subletting in Buggenhagen Church and naming
Therefore pretty soon the first removal into a small hall of the Buggenhagen Church in Hamburg-Barmbek took place. Pastor Corinne Scholz also started to preach, and there were more seminars of the Munich „Word of Faith“ Church following.

That Munich congregation was and is independant from us!
We merely adopted the name „Word of Faith“ referring to the church „Word of Faith“ of Kenneth Hagin in the USA.

First church building in Menckes-Allee
Already after 1 ½ years the group consisted of 50-60 people and the hall in Buggenhagen Church was too small. Therefore this young congregation moved into an own house in Menckesallee in Hamburg-Wandsbek for a second time. As they went along the church became more international, and grew more and more.

Present church residence in Oelmuehlenweg
After 10 years the removal to Oelmuehlenweg took place. But even here, the rooms are so well-filled that we are ready to move into an new and bigger building.
